Fr. John Francis, CSJ Triathlon Fundraiser Supporting Contigo

On October 1st, Fr. John Francis, CSJ, will be participating in a swim triathlon.  Contigo Youth Club was chosen by Fr. John because, in his own words “Contigo Youth Club is exactly the kind of initiative that recent Popes have had in mind when they were speaking of the New Evangelization. Contigo is the response of two incredible young people to the dramatic need in their local church. I am convinced that every youth involved in Contigo receives an invaluable gift: the chance to grow into early adulthood without being forced into the destructive lifestyle that surrounds them on all sides.” He would like to encourage you think about celebrating the feast of St. Therese with a gift to Contigo Youth Club.

Contigo provides essential support, mentorship, and educational opportunities to at-risk youth in Falls Church, VA. The volunteers and program leaders are unanimous in their faith filled commitment to helping the youth overcome the obstacles presented by their surroundings through a thoroughly Catholic wholistic response. In an area known and avoided by its surrounding, much wealthier neighbors, Contigo gives their youth the knowledge that they are not objects but persons who have the right to be nurtured with dignity and love.
