Summer Volunteer & Intern Opportunities

Volunteer Opportunities for Adults

(18 years and older)

  • Full-time Missionaries
    We count on our full-time Summer Camp missionaries to be present from 8:30am to 5:30pm each day. Responsibilities include leading or supervising 3 or 4 programs per day and supervising children during lunch time, snack time, assemblies, and dismissal time when needed. A weekly stipend for groceries & transportation can be given to the missionary upon request.
  • Half-time Missionaries
    We count on our half-time Summer Camp missionaries to be present at least 5 half-days (it can be a combination of full days and half days). Morning hours are 8:30am-1:30pm. Afternoon hours are 12-5pm. Our half-time summer camp missionaries are to lead or supervise programs when they are present and supervise children during lunch time, snack time, assemblies, and dismissal time when needed.
  • Drop-in Volunteers
    We count on our drop-in volunteers to come in for a specific task whether it be leading or supervising a program, taking kids to Mass, chaperoning a field trip, or supervising children during lunch and quiet time. Drop-in volunteers are asked to commit to the task on a specific date and time. See below for specific opportunities.

High School Interns

(10th & 11th grade only)

  • High School Interns
    Our high school interns receive professional development through trainings and work experience. With guidance from our staff, our interns are expected to plan and implement at least 2 programs each week. We also count on our interns to help supervise and have positive interactions with campers. Drop-in Volunteer Opportunities

Program Leader

  • Our Program Leaders plan enriching and age appropriate programs for our campers. A high school intern will be available to assist as needed. The campers are separated by age for their programs. Each age group has approximately 15 campers. The age groups are 1st & 2nd graders, 3-5th graders, 6-8th graders, and 9-10th graders.  We ask those who lead programs to commit to the same hour slot each week and to come to our training week as much as possible to be able to prepare.
  •  Program Slots are Monday – Friday (There will be no camp on July 4 & 5)
    • 9:30-10:30am
    • 10:40-11:40am
    • 1:40-2:40pm
    • 3:30-4:30pm

Program Supervisor

  • Our Program Supervisors assist programs that are planned and led by High School Interns. We ask those who supervise and assist a high school intern’s program to commit to the same hour time slot each week.
  • Program Slots are Monday – Friday
    • 9:30-10:30am
    • 10:40-11:40am
    • 1:40-2:40pm
    • 3:30-4:30pm

12pm Mass Chaperone

  • From Monday to Friday during camp, we give the campers the option to delay eating their lunch in order to attend the 12pm Mass. A 12pm Mass chaperone arrives at Door 11 at 11:45am, checks the list of campers who are at Mass, walks the campers to Mass, encourages the campers to participate, and returns the campers back through Door 11 for them to have lunch. We ask our 12pm Mass Chaperone to commit to the same day each week.

Wild Mercy Waves Water Park Leader

  • Each week, our two youngest age groups (1st grade to 5th grade) play water games outside. We count on our Wild Mercy Waves Leader to manage the logistics of campers changing their clothes before getting wet, lead a simple water themed catechism lesson, set up the water station, leading an organized game outside, supervise freeplay, put away the water game paraphernalia, and supervise a snack before dismissal time. Two high school interns will be available to assist.
